Exploratory Laboratory (ExLab) is a research based commissioning programme that will culminate with an exhibition of artworks at various locations in Dorset.
Education is at the centre of all we do – whether it is the collaborative nature of the artists working with scientists, the skills and knowledge sharing by the Big Picture members, or audiences engaging in talks and workshops – ExLabs is an ‘exploratory laboratory’.
In a more formal sense, we provide opportunities for learning through schools, colleges and art centres. We will be creating a workbook with ideas for all ages to engage in both the artistic and the scientific concepts that inform the commissioned artist’s practice.
