Seriously, we DO need Cultural Volunteers and I resisted putting up The Village People song, which just shows how sophisticated we really are……
ExLab is going to need a lot of help during the exhibition period. Volunteering as a steward for the project will give you a brilliant chance to talk to people about the artworks and share your passion for art with our audiences. What we’re doing stands out from many of the other projects due to it’s research-based approach. By the time the work is out there, we will have stories to tell people about how and why the works came about and what inspired them.
DATES: ExLab at various locations between 27th July & 9th Sept
If you’d like to volunteer with us and be a valuable part of our team of artists and scientists, we have a number of openings for volunteers to act as invigilators at a range of venues.
We provide training about the project, emergency procedures, the artists and the artworks themselves. You may have a keen interest in art or in geology, or neither – it doesn’t matter, anyone will find these artworks and locations unusual and informative, whatever their interests. Some relate to geology, technology, people and walking. The locations range from beaches to barns, galleries to Coastwatch buildings!
The artists and locations needing support are:
Sherborne Simon Callery
Purbeck Mat Chivers
Durlston & Wimborne Zachary Eastwood-Bloom
Portland Bill Simon Ryder
Burton Bradstock Proboscis
We can reimburse reasonable transport costs to and from locations and provide light refreshments.
If you’d like to volunteer with us and be a valuable part of our team of artists and scientists, please read the information sheet below and complete an application form. email it to: email@example.com putting ‘volunteering’ in the subject line, or call into your local volunteer centre.
